Sulafa participated in an art workshop in Berlin titled '(mis)translation,' a forum that beckoned participants to explore uncharted linguistic territories. There, they embarked on a journey of discovery through visual interpretations of foreign text and equipped with photocopies, undertook the task of transmuting the linguistic enigmas into tangible works of art. The workshop afforded Sulafa the opportunity to immerse herself in the avant-garde translations of visionaries such as François Le Lionnais and the Cercle Polivanov, whose groundbreaking experiments in language served to enrich her endeavor.
As part of the workshop proceedings, Sulafa merged the unknown language with the language she was artistically fluent in, crochet, thereby fashioning anovel linguistic expression. She was particularly curious about the structural elements and layout of the text presented to her, and thus meticulously mirrored the contours of the paragraph's form, preserving its spatial and visual integrity in her interpretation.
